Note: From just about anywhere within the Czech Republic, you’ll need to go through Ceske Budejovice to get to Cesky Krumlov.
From Prague:
Train
Trains to Ceske Budejovice leave almost every hour from the main train station (Hlavni Nadrazi). At Ceske Budejovice, you must transfer to a smaller and slower train to Krumlov. Because this train is so slow (though very scenic) and the Krumlov train station is a long walk downhill to the center of town, signage is poor and it’s not recommended.
Bus
From Prague’s Florenc bus station (go to the Florenc Metro station, and follow the autobus signs) to Cesky Krumlov takes about three hours and costs 160 crowns (plus 10 crowns per bag). At Florenc, find platform 25. You don’t need reservations, and can buy the ticket directly from the driver.
When you arrive at Cesky Krumlov, you can get off at “Spicak”, which is the last stop before the main bus station. It is closer to the center, and requires no crossing of dangerous intersections.
You can also take either the train or a bus to Ceske Budejovice, and then transfer to another bus to Cesky Krumlov. The Ceske Budejovice bus station and train station are right next to each other.
